The SHI program is only open to students currently in grades 10 or 11, and who will be minors (younger than 18 years old) that are at least 15 years old during the program. While we understand many students have had accelerated coursework, these grade level requirements are firm and no exceptions are made. The courses are designed for students with certain levels of maturity and experience in mind. Students must be in the correct grade level to apply.Students in grades 8 and 9: We encourage you to consider applying for the online advanced humanities courses in the Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes program.Students in grade 12: We encourage you to consider applying for the in-person program Stanford Summer Session (High School).If you are not available for the SHI program dates, or not able to attend an in-person residential program, we encourage you to consider applying for the advanced humanities online courses in the Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes program.
