The residential SUMaC program is only open to students currently in grades 10 or 11, and who will be minors (younger than 18 years old) that are at least 15 years old during the program. The online SUMaC program is only open to students currently in grades 10 or 11, and who will be at least 15 years old by the start of the program but no older than 18 years old or younger during the program. SUMaC also requires students to have experience with mathematical proofs. While we understand many students have had accelerated coursework, these grade level requirements are firm and no exceptions are made. The courses are designed for students with certain levels of maturity and experience in mind.Students in grades 8 and 9: We encourage you to consider applying for the advanced math courses in the Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes program.
